Leisure Centres and Swimming Pools in Camberley and Surrey Heath
Which leisure centres serve Camberley, Frimley and Lightwater, who runs them, what each lists and how to book.
Surrey Heath Borough Council lists three leisure centres: Places Leisure Camberley on Grand Avenue, which has the swimming pools, Lightwater Leisure Centre in Lightwater Country Park, and Tomlinscote Sports Centre in Frimley. Places Leisure runs Camberley; book through its website, app or the centre on 01276 417111.
Which leisure centres are there?
Surrey Heath Borough Council's leisure centres page says there are three leisure centres in the borough. Booking and prices are set by each centre's operator, so use the links below.

- Lightwater Leisure Centre, Lightwater Country Park, The Avenue, Lightwater GU18 5RG.

Places Leisure Camberley
The council describes this as a centre that opened in July 2021, with a fitness suite, a 25 metre 6-lane pool, a learner pool with an adjustable floor, a splash zone, an eight court sports hall, group exercise studios, a health suite, a climbing arena, a cafe and an adventure play area. The operator's centre page says it is managed by Places for People Leisure on behalf of Surrey Heath Borough Council and lists:
- gym, indoor cycling studio, studio classes and a hot yoga studio
- pools and a splashpad
- sports hall, soft play and Clip 'n Climb
- health suite and a Costa Coffee
- a car park

Swimming lessons. The centre page lists swimming lessons as available at this centre, alongside climbing and gymnastics. It lists badminton and trampolining as unavailable here and points to centres in Wokingham and Arborfield Green.
Booking. The centre page carries a timetable you can filter by activity (swimming, classes, kids, sports, gym, climbing) and says memberships include access to the Places Leisure app for making and managing bookings. Membership prices and joining offers change often, so use the centre page.
Access. The page lists accessible parking, a lift, accessible turnstiles, a Changing Places facility, a pool hoist, an accessible pool platform, an accessible shower and wheelchair accessible equipment, and says assistance dogs are welcome. For general parking, see our Camberley parking guide.
Lightwater Leisure Centre
The council describes it as a Lifestyle Fitness centre in Lightwater Country Park. Lifestyle Fitness's Lightwater page says it is in partnership with the Lightwater Playing Fields Association and lists:
- a gym with free weights, an InBody scanner and a sauna
- a cycle studio, fitness classes and HYROX sessions
- a floodlit 3G pitch and grass pitches
- a multi-sport indoor hall for hire (basketball, netball, volleyball, indoor football), badminton, pickleball and table tennis courts, and studio hire
- an on-site cafe
The page does not list a swimming pool. At the time we read it, the page said a new sports booking system was coming and to contact the club to make a new booking.
Tomlinscote Sports Centre
The council describes this as a dual-use centre at Tomlinscote School in Frimley, open to the public in the evenings, at weekends and in school holidays. The centre's own site publishes opening times of Monday to Friday 5:30pm to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm, and the phone number 01276 670316. Its facilities page lists an indoor badminton court, table tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, netball, astro tennis (season depending) and 11, 9, 7 and 5-a-side 3G pitches, with all bookings made through SchoolHire. It also has a gym and class timetable and birthday parties. The site did not list a swimming pool.
So where do I swim?
Of the three centres the council lists, only Places Leisure Camberley is described with pools. If you live in Bagshot, Lightwater or Mytchett, check travel and parking for Grand Avenue before you go.
