Where is the Camberley tip?

The household waste tip is officially called Camberley Community Recycling Centre. Surrey County Council, which runs Surrey's community recycling centres, gives the address as Wilton Road, Camberley, Surrey GU15 2QW. Surrey Heath Borough Council's recycling centres and banks page names it as the centre in Camberley and says there are two recycling centres in Surrey Heath, though it only names the Camberley one.

When is it open?

As published by Surrey County Council on its Camberley page, the centre is open:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am to 4pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 4pm

On bank holidays, the same page says the centre closes at 2pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and keeps its usual hours on all other bank holidays. Hours can change, so check the page before a long trip with a full load.

Do I need to book?

Surrey County Council's page states that you do not need to book a visit to Camberley CRC. Some other Surrey sites have used booking systems, so do not assume the rules at another centre apply here, and check the page if you are unsure.

What can I take?

The page lists bottle tops, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and Tetra Pak cartons among the accepted items, along with the standard centre items and construction or DIY waste. For the full list of what is accepted, and any limits or charges for DIY waste, use the council's page rather than relying on this summary.

Tyres are accepted but charged. The page says £5.00 including VAT per whole or part tyre, and bicycle tyres are free. Check the page for the current price before you go.

Can I bring a van or trailer?

The council's Camberley page says vans and trailers are permitted at this site. It also says there is no pedestrian-only access, so you must arrive by vehicle. There is no Revive reuse shop at the Camberley site according to the page.

What if I only have a bulky item or garden waste?

You do not have to drive to the tip for everything. Joint Waste Solutions, which runs Surrey Heath's kerbside service, offers a paid one-off bulky waste collection for items like washing machines and furniture, as set out on the council's request and report page. Textiles and small electricals can be put out weekly by the kerbside, and the service guide notes they can also be taken to community recycling centres. Garden waste can be recycled at community recycling centres if you do not subscribe to the garden waste bin, according to the council's bin information page.

Fly-tipping

Do not leave waste outside the gates or at other sites. Reporting routes for fly-tipping in Surrey Heath are covered in our guide to reporting problems.
